What does Metoprolol treat?

Metropolol treats medical conditions such as chest pain (angina), heart failure and high blood pressure. It belongs to the class of drugs called beta-blockers that work by blocking the action of some of the naturally occurring chemicals that impact the heart and blood vessels. This brings down the blood pressure and eases blood flow. Lowering blood pressure cuts down the risk of strokes and heart attacks occurring. Your physician may use this to treat other ailments based on their discretion.

Side Effects of Metoprolol

Metropolol does not have any major side effects and if any, they are minor and temporary. In rare cases, there might be major side effects and immediate medical attention must be sought. Side effects cannot be anticipated in advance.
