What is Exemestane 25mg used for?
Exemestane 25mg is used to treat early and advanced breast cancer in the postmenopausal women who have been already treated with a cancer medication called tamoxifen for 2 to 3 years. Exemestane is also used to help prevent the recurrence of breast cancer. Exemestane is indicated for the treatment of hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer and not used to treat the breast cancer that is not hormone sensitive. Exemestane is not recommended for use in children. A natural hormone in the body called estrogen can fuel the growth of certain breast cancer. Exemestane works by reducing the amount of estrogen produced in your body, which slows or stops the cancer cell growth. Exemestane belongs to a class of medications known as aromatase inhibitors. Exemestane may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.What is the recommended dosage of Exemestane?
The dosage of Exemestane prescribed to each patient will vary. Always follow your physician’s instructions and/or the directions on the prescription drug label. Take Exemestane by mouth, after a meal.What if you miss a dose of Exemestane?
If your physician has instructed or directed you to take Exemestane medication in a regular schedule and you have missed a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the doses to catch up for the missed dose.What if you overdose on Exemestane?
